Cuckleburr Bill as my grandfather called him...they both migrated from Nocona, Texas at about the same time to the Chickasaw nation...deserves to be called "the Father of Oklahoma" as he wrote most of the constitution of our state. He was a crusty opinionated lawyer of the highest calibre. I doubt he would a democrat in today's political system...perhaps an independant. Well known across the nation he was defeated by FDR for the Presidenial nomination. My dad had business with him in 1955 and it was pleasure to meet him. They had both been born in Montague Country Texas and both passed away in Johnston County Oklahoma. Within a year of our visit both my dad and Cuckleburr Bill went to their rewards.
In the Yellow Hills of the Arbuckles...
The wind still whistles thru the trees and keeps her secrets.
Mini daydreams flood the mind with paths once taken.
Past moments etched in time that remain forever precious.
The Lord of all of us plots our courses for His good pleasure! <> <> <>
